This Is A Course You Have To Play

On your next Palm Springs vacation you have got to play Terra Lago. This course is simply amazing. I recently spent some time in this uprising golf destination and this is a great course to include on your checklist. This course was formally known as Landmark and has played host to the Skins Game from 1999 through 2002. In 2000 Greg Norman took home all the skins on this awesome desert course. On this course you will experience elevation changes, great conditions, unparalleled views, and quite possibly a course that you will want to play each time you visit the area. Any Palm Springs vacation will most likely include a visit to one of the many spas and or resorts. Taking in some great golf is not hard to do either. Another course that you will truly enjoy would be Desert Willow. Including this 36-hole facility on your Palm Springs vacation will give you a sense of accomplishment. On this course you will find excellent conditions right in the heart of the city. Open fairways invite your tee shots, but leaving anything out to the left or right will have you scrambling for a bogy. The Firecliff and Mountain View are the names of the perspective venues at this resort. Another course you will want to think about adding to your Palm Springs vacation would be Silverrock. Golf Courses of Southwest

The weather is getting cooler which means the courses are getting closer to the over seeding period. Over seeding is the process where the colder weather causes the Bermuda grass to go dormant for the winter. In the southwest, Bermuda grass is the dominate grass indigenous to the regions of hot and dry weather. However, in the winter months the grass turns golden brown and is dormant until the summer of the following year. Every course in the southwest over seeds with a type of Rye grass to keep the courses in playable conditions, throughout the months of September through November the courses take about 3 weeks off to plant the new winter Rye. When the courses come out of the over seeding process, they are cart path only for the next three to four weeks. It is just weeks before these courses are in the best possible conditions for play, the fairways play slower and the greens play faster while remaining soft and pliable. The winter months are the bread and butter of Southwest style golf. Bringing beautiful weather with daily highs of 70 degrees and course conditions only found on PGA Tour stops, the Southwest is the ideal destination for a golf vacation.
